SOLVING THE SEASONS RIDDLE |
|
Back
to the signup form If your property is one of these, your goal is to do the best job possible of determining which season your property would be listed in if your resort were season-based. The best approach is to go to the Marriott website, look up the season calendar of a resort using the metallic season descriptions and that is in the same general locale, and use the season which encompasses the time you own. For example, if you own a fixed week at a resort on Hilton Head Island, you could look up the resort calendar for Grande Ocean, see which season that week is listed in at Grande Ocean, and use that season when you sign up. Step-by-step instructions for finding the season calendar on Marriott's website are here. Grand Residence Club owners should select all four seasons (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) because they can reserve any week at all, If you cannot determine an appropriate season by the above, you can fall back on one of the following, less accurate methods: If your Villa uses just two seasons, then generally your Villa's "high season" or "prime season" would correspond to the Silver, Gold, and Platinum seasons, while the "low" or "off-season" would correspond to Bronze. For example, in the terms of Interval International, the Vacation Club Platinum, Gold, and Silver seasons trade as "Red" and the Bronze trades as "Green". If your property just has two seasons then select all three (Platinum, Gold, Silver) to describe a "high season" property, or select Bronze to describe a "low season" property. If your Villa has three seasons, such as red, white, and blue, then you have a couple of options. First, if you know which of those correspond to Interval International's Red and Green, then you can treat them as Red and Green and use the discussion above to translate into the bronze/silver/gold/platinum selections. Otherwise you could select both Platinum and Gold to describe your High season, Silver to describe your Medium season, and Bronze to describe a Low season. If your Villa uses a 4-season system (but not the platinum/gold/silver/bronze system), then select Platinum for your best season, Gold for the next-best, Silver for the third-best, and Bronze for the lowest season. If you have a specific week, and you know whether that week would be considered in the "high" season or "low" season, use the instructions above for a "high" season or a "low" season. All this is far less than precise and this difficulty of having no "standard" for seasons may provide an imperfect match-up when trying to find a trading partner because, for example, someone wanting to trade Platinum for Platinum may find a "match" with another Owner whose "high" season really corresponds with Gold. This means your search for a matching season to trade into is only approximate for those Villas not using the bronze/silver/gold/platinum system, and you definitely need to clarify the season issue when contacting another Owner about a trade. |
